A series of paintings based on beloved anime characters using gouache and bright colors to evoke delight and emotion.
Portrait commissions I’ve done. I absolutely live painting and drawing people’s likeness, and I always try to incorporate their personality and favorite color as well.

Getting a new Ipad changed my process in interesting ways. It allowed me to play with color, texture, and subject matter in a more organic way. It allowed me to test a verity of effects and techniques in a short amount of time, and I was able to integrate some of my traditional skill as well. These pieces represent most of those experiments. My “sunflower queen” let me bring back my oil painting and observation skills, while the “gamer bouquet” allowed me to see how fast I could get from concept to finished piece.
The events that followed the death of George Floyd left me feeling sorrowful, frustrated and helpless, but as with most things, I found comfort in channeling those feelings into a few pieces. It renewed my love for political art and and visual pieces, so I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes me as I join others in the fight for a just world.
